need a bigger trophy room D2 Cup added

Game 1: Pacifica Thunder 1-0, win

We knew our first game would be a tough one since their stats were not only impressive but they were the league champions from Copper North. Saturdays at 7AM are always tough for our girls since they are all such social butterflies and Friday nights are always eventful but this time our girls were on time and ready to warm up. The game was tight as anticipated but control and ball possession definitely went TGW’s way and at the end, the score was 1-0 thanks to an incredible passing exchange from Jessie to Shayda, and Shayda to Jordan for the score. Our D once again dominated and controlled the game which gave our offense plenty of opportunities to set up their attacks and our keeper plenty of time to compare and contrast waffles vs omelets for breakfast on game day.

Game 2: Brisbane Blaze 4-0, win

Our second Saturday game was very important since knew the top of the pack in our two sub-brackets would be racking up points against weaker teams so we had to do the same. Our goal was to score at least three but preferably five to not only maximize our point total but to make a statement about the strength of our offense. We came very close by scoring 4 and not giving up nada! Shayda had two wonderful assists, one to Eva and the other to Jordan . In addition to that, Eva and Megan both had one goal each. Obviously our defense was too much for the Blaze since nobody remembers any close calls where our keepers were even tested.

Game 3: OV Heat 2-0, win

Going into Sunday, we were the clear point leader by a substantial margin. We only needed a tie with the home team to advance to the championship game but our girls were not focused on any such target. We were out to win and win with an exclamation point! The storm started to rapidly move south right before we were ready to get on the field for warm-ups. Luckily, we started to get our blood pumping before the rains hit the field because when it finally came, it came down in buckets. As we huddled under the our much needed shelter, we watched the poor OV Heat girls getting absolutely drenched trying to warm-up under the eye of the storm… not sure what they were thinking but we certainly didn’t want to derail their warm-up regiments.

As you all know, our people are very well connected so we were able to get the rain to subside just before the whistle so that we can start the game. Our poor opponents not only started the game with bad hair (which our girls are very conscious of) but were all soaked from head to toes. Once the game started we were amped up and were definitely firing on all cylinders. The normally strong OV Heat team didn’t look very strong as our girls moved the ball around at will and used the wind to their advantage. Eva started things off with a nice shot which found the back of the net then Megan calmly followed it up with a well placed shot to the left post after a nice break-away to make it 2 to nil. Second half was scoreless since we were going against the wind but we still dominated both sides of the field. We had several beautiful plays that should have resulted in goals had it not been for the lake in front of the goal area that stopped the ball dead in its track. Had the playing conditions been less English-like, the score would have been 5 to zero but we accepted what we got and settled for the 2 goals and another shutout. The win gave Top Gun the highest point total in the bracket of six teams with 27 points and secured the number 1 seed for the championship game.

Game 4: Olympic America 3-0, win

Because of our win against the OV Heat, our rival Olympic America (OA) squeezed past the Heat with their Sunday morning tie to make it into the championship game. This would be our third meeting with OA so we definitely were familiar with this team and knew some of their weaknesses and strengths. We also knew that the game on turf would be advantageous to us since it would showcase our speed and control better than grass. The stage was set, the line was favoring TGW so all we had to do was double down and execute.

Once the game started we noticed that OA was missing their set-up midfielder and had a couple of guest players. One new player, #10 in particular probably got some lessons on bumping from our last foe, the Fresno Magic. As #10 pushed her weight around and tried to out muscle us, we did not get intimidated, instead were invigorated. Lauren even asked to go back into the game on D just prove that #10 could not beat her out in the wing! We did a great job overall matching their aggressiveness without getting caught, err… I mean by keeping it clean and legal.

The entire game was dominated by TGW as we mounted attacks after attack. Half way into the first half, Eva capitalized on OA’s key weakness, their keeper’s inability to hit a strong goal kick. All her goal kicks were about 18 yards long with a strong backspin so Eva positioned herself perfectly for the trap and the open lane to the net. The first goal kick play culminated with a kick wide of the post which resulted in another goal kick; luckily OA did not adjust properly and gave us the exact same serve to an awaiting Eva again. This time, Eva trapped softly and took it to goal and delivered a power shot for our first goal.

Later in the game, OA’s frustration began to affect their play which opened their defense even more. Megan seized the opportunity to create a lane with a speedy break-away and finished strong to force the keeper to embarrassingly fetch the ball out of her own net. The last goal was the result of OA getting desperate and confused and our players all in position and acutely focused. After countless crosses by our mid-fielders, one was inevitably going to find the back of the net by our awaiting strikers. Goal number 3 was a combo between Megan and Shayda who were both in the right place at the right time. After the cross, Megan in a crowd of OA defenders was able to dish it out to Shayda who saw a wide open lane for the tap-in. Three to nil with no chance for their aggressive forwards to penetrate our 3-Deep D made OA simply play with virtually no spark in the final minutes of the match. Once the whistle blew, we were elated but knew that this was the score we were capable of posting with our friends from Saratoga . We coaches were very proud to see that our girls learned and adjusted their game and bettered their score after each meeting with this formidable opponent.

Top Gun White truly showed what they were made of during this rainy weekend. Their focus and determination was evident during the entire tournament as they mowed through the matches in convincing fashion. Top Gun is a new team but played like they’ve been together for years posting one of the best records in the tournament with zero goals given up and ten goals to their credit! Individually, there were some stronger players out there but as a team, nobody even came close. Our girls did it again with another 1st place finish, their third championship in three tournaments! Thanks for everyone who came out to brave the weather and to support the Mighty Top Gun girls as they continue their quest to be recognized as the best Copper team in the league.

Still Champions

Our last and final game of the regular season came and went faster than Zenyatta’s last 100 yards in the Breeders’ Cup! The game was important since we wanted to hold our opponent to a scoreless game and keep our D sharp in preparation for the D2 Cup. We were warmed up, the field was recently mowed and the weather was perfect for soccer.

The first half was tough to watch since we did not come out strong or focused. The field was very narrow and short so we had some serious adjustments to make but we simply did not make it on the field as the clock ran. The Jaguars did not look strong but Top Gun still could not put together any reasonable attacks. We definitely looked like the second to last place team in the division as we played this unlucky last place team…

After the half time whistle blew, we regrouped, absorbed a couple of stern comments and discussed our new game plan. Very simply, we had to pass the ball around for about 5 minutes and not attack the goal until we could figure out our stride and tempo. Sure enough the girls began to talk and support each other on the field and showed much more control of the ball and the game compared to the first half. Needless to say, Top Gun finished the game very strong and proved that they were indeed that same team that posted the unbelievable stats. After passing the ball around as discussed, they finally started to break the defense open and their defense started to make mistakes trying to follow the ball. Just like clockwork, Jordan hit one in right on the fifth minute mark of the second half to end the passing practice session. Once the first goal went in, we had many more nice attacks as everyone tried to keep the momentum going. Nice long range shot from Paola to bend it in from about 24 yards out followed by yet another great finish by Jordan to chalk up her second of the game to make it a decisive 3-0 win.

Top Gun D does it again by handing out another shutout with an amazing display of defensive wizardry. Our D was absolutely stellar and gave up no true shots on goal and no real threat to our keeper. We learned a few things about playing on an ultra small field that we can hopefully take with us and apply in the future. We also learned that we cannot afford to ratchet down our game when we are not facing a team that could “take it to us”. It was an embarrassing first half and our girls felt it as we coaches did on the sidelines. The girls showed they learned a great lesson about pushing each other as teammates to get the entire machine to start clicking on all cylinders the second half. By the end of the game, they were truly hitting their stride and rolling and probably could have played another half at full speed.

The first season is over for this new bunch! We have had a very successful, undefeated inaugural season and won our bracket decisively with a record of 9-1-0. Our crazy, fun loving girls scored 32 goals and gave up only 1. Those stats are very impressive any way you slice the pumpkin pie! Congratulations to the girls for winning the bracket and bringing SASC another league title. Thanks for all the parents that helped out with all the volunteer activities to make our first season run smoothly and successfully. And finally, thanks for all you folks that come out week after week to cheer on the mighty, mighty Top Gun girls as they made history!

MEDINA CHAMPIONS

Game 1: Palo Alto Blue Zoom, 0-0 tie

The day started early for us as we opened things up for Sunnyvale with an 8AM game. The girls were trying to shake off the Friday night events from their minds and get into the soccer groove but I could tell they were tired and lacked some focus. The game was quite even throughout most of the game with a slight edge to Top Gun. We both had some opportunities but neither team could convert. The game ended in a disappointing draw but we knew we were still in the hunt.

Game 2: YSL Hot Shots, 4-1 win

We knew that this team would be fairly tough since they were the higher ranked West Valley team compared to Olympic America so we were mentally prepared for a tough battle. We also knew that we needed to score at least 10 or 11 points to have a chance to win our bracket and move on in the tournament. The girls definitely stepped up in this game to make up for the draw against the Blue Zoom earlier in the day. We came out strong and scored early but I think we could have scored even more in the first 10 minutes if the Hot Shots didn’t have 13 players on the field! Nothing seemed to distract the girls as they went on with business as usual. Nice couple of goals by Lulu and one PK goal by Paola as well as one by Shayda to help us rack up some much needed points to secure the number 1 seed going into Sunday’s play.

Game 3: Peninsula Phoenix , 3-0 win

It was very nice to not only win our bracket but to be the home/host team since we only had a minimal commute to get to the fields. Our opponent had to be on the road by 7AM for their 8:30AM shootout to break the tie in their bracket, and then they had to wait around the field for the game with us. Not a good way to spend time prior to the elimination game. Nevertheless, we mentally and physically were ready for the game and our girls came out blazing like I have not seen before. Our defense completely controlled the tempo of the game and did not let any threats materialize whatsoever. We set up many opportunities during the first few minutes but finally, quick thinking Jordan took a through ball all the way home for our first goal. A few minutes later, Shayda found a perfect baby-bouncy ball coming straight to her from about 25 yards out so she had nothing else to concentrate on but to keep it low and hard. Good thing we used to practice this last year playing kick-ball! J Finally as the minutes dwindled down in the first half, Halley took one coast to coast and finished beautifully with a 30 yard rocket from the left side to put the exclamation point on an amazing first half. Second half was much the same as we dominated ball possession and set our offense up time and time again for scoring opportunities. Luckily for the Phoenix , the soccer gods moved on to visit the Fresno vs. Olympic America game and kept our game scoreless the entire second half. Nice three to nil result to highlight that it didn’t matter which bracket the Mighty Top Gun girls were placed in, the outcome would be the same… TG in the finals!

Game 4: Fresno Metro Magic, 3-2 win

The hype and fanfare followed the Fresno team to the final game especially after they shellacked (that word has been used a few times since election nightJ) our rival from West Valley , the Olympic America 5-0! Those that watched the game knew we would have to bring our A game in order to keep up with this unknown team from Fresno . Our girls were not intimidated and proved that they were serious during warm-ups and all the pre-game pep talks. Our game plan was simple, to take them out of their game plan. We knew we had to score first to force them to play catch up as well as play hard-nosed, physical soccer and not allow them to see any weaknesses in our size and strength.

As soon as the whistle blew we showed we were PUMPED and ready to give the Magic the fight of their lives. The first few minutes started fast and furious and we quickly adjusted after a near goal by the Magic as their right wing crossed it perfectly to a wide open center striker. Luckily her shot hit that extra wide home-field crossbar! After regaining composure we had a couple of great attacks which got the Magic confused and flustered especially around the box. Top Gun continued to pressure the keeper and the back line until finally a strong cross from the left side made it through several layers of desperate Magic defenders to find a wide open Jessie next to the far post. With the easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy tap-in, Jessie was able to get our first goal and check off the box for critical things to do that Sunday. Magic equalized the game with a powerful shot from outside the 18 which made it in past our keeper’s outreached hands. Momentum was still with the Magic as they continued to pressure and attack us. Finally, just before the half, the soccer gods sent down a gift by allowing a soft rolling ball to skip past our keeper for the 2 to 1 lead.

Half time didn’t come soon enough since we needed something to stop the barrage of attacks before they scored again. We regrouped during half time and talked about what we needed to adjust on D and what we needed to do to break down their back line. Our girls were really pumped up and ready to go as they started to bounce in synch prior to the whistle of the second half. They knew this was their half and that they would not allow a visiting team to man-handle them in their tournament without a fight.

The physical play started immediately but during this half, we were the team initiating the bumps. Yo started things off in the backfield by leveling their left wing as she attempted to dribble through her. No whistle after this first battle so we continued to play rough, Fresno style soccer. Kalie followed it up with some intimidating bumps of her own but against a much larger opponent. She obviously did some homework prior to the game because the understanding that force was equal to mass times acceleration was evident. Kalie’s mass was less than, therefore her acceleration needed to be more than to create the force needed to derail the larger opponent… J

After the physical start of the second half, the Magic knew they could not be effective by simply muscling through us. They changed their backfield to give their “bigs” a much needed break and we quickly took advantage. Jordan got the opportunity first with a 1v4 situation which she somehow won by weaving through all three defenders to create the 1v1 with the keeper and the wide open net. Jordan of course finished with an accurate tap-in past the befuddled keeper for the equalizer goal. Now the momentum definitely started to shift as we were attacking about 70% of the time. With Top Gun constantly pressuring the desperate Magic we knew it was a matter of time before we would create the opportunity we needed. As regulation time began to wind down, we knew that we would have the advantage if the game went to OT and PKs since we were much better conditioned and have been working on our accuracy but nobody wanted to extend the game since there were Halloween parties that needed our presence! Eva was one that wanted to get this job done and move on so she created a lane by blasting past their left defender and sent a perfect cross to Lulu who received it with control and quickly punched it in for a game winner. Clutch goal, just in the nick of time to extinguish the flicker of fire the Magic still had with about 3 minutes left.

After the final whistle, the Magic were shocked that they were defeated but were very gracious after they realized it was a well played game and they had nothing to be ashamed of. We coaches knew that it would be a tight game with a skilled team but knew there was nothing our girls couldn’t accomplish if they focus their minds to it and work together. Thanks for all that came out to support the Mighty, mighty Top Gun girls by volunteering for SASC as well as rooting for this incredible group as they captured their second victory with style and class.

Champions !!

What a weekend! Nice cool weather and just enough precipitation to make it perfect for soccer. To top it off, we had both of our games at home on the beautiful SSC fields so one couldn’t ask for much more. The stage was set for Top Gun to play two very pivotal games; they just had to bring their “A” game.

South San Jose Force: 3-0 win

Saturday’s game was against the South SJ Force. The first time we met, Top Gun beat them 5-0 but we knew that this team improved since the beginning of the season so we were very cautious and ready for a completely different team. We came out hard and fast but so did they. We definitely owned ball possession and controlled the tempo but their defense did what they needed to prevent any early goals. Our defense did a spectacular job as well in keeping the ball on the Force’s side of the field so that our offense would have opportunities. The offense had several nice plays that resulted in nice shots on goals but nothing went through and we ended the half a disappointing 0-0.

The second half was very much the same as we controlled ball possession. This half however, the girls were much more determined to put something on the board. Finally, after about what seemed like our tenth cross, Jessie was on the far post at the right time and received a perfect through ball for an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy tap in for our first goal. Definitely a momentum changer since our girls started to calm down and show less desperation in their attacks. We saw calmer, more methodical, well planned attacks instead of closed-eyes, kamikaze type of attacks. This resulted in a nice passing sequence that ended with a perfect left to right pass received by Shayda who finished beautifully with her right foot for our second goal. Finally, after another sequence of passes, Celine made a perfect one-touch contact with an air ball from the left side about 22 yards out which sent the ball bouncing off the right post and in the goal for our third and final goal.

Our D once again came through with another convincing shut-out. Great work by all since everyone is on D when we don’t have the ball but special recognition goes out to our regulars in the back-field. Excellent work by Kalie as she stopped all attacks from ever gaining any momentum, nice job by Hallie and Yo to take care of the outside lanes to truly frustrate their speedy wings. Occasionally when the ball would make it though our first and second line of defense, our sweepers Megan and Eva were always there to send the ball back to our offense.

The team brought at least their “A-” game on Saturday. Everyone played very well individually and more importantly, as a unit. We coaches saw much more passing and better ball movement. We are still not moving the ball east and west and back to our fullbacks and keeper as much as we should but we are definitely making positive progress. Even though we push the girls very hard to figure out themselves how to finish better and score more goals, the fact of the matter is they are doing a great job scoring. There is very little to complain about with 28 goals in eight games coming from 13 different scorers.

West Valley Olympic America: 1-0 win

Sunday’s game was going to be the nail-bitter and really the game that would decide the ranking for the season. This was the only team that scored on us and the only team that tied us and of course, the only team standing in the way of OUR first place title. Needless to say, our girls were AMPED and ready to go, rain or shine!

First half, our game plan was to contain the ball in Olympic’s half and move it around enough to create openings for our strikers to attack. The defense executed flawlessly and allowed our mid-fielders and offense to start to chip away at their very stingy D. We gave their all-star keeper quite a work-out but did not convert any of our shots to goals. I thought both teams played very well the entire first half with a clear domination from the girls in red and white.

For the second half, we went back to basics with nothing unique or fancy in the lineup. We started to move the ball around the shooting perimeter much better and started to see some openings during set plays. The Olympic girls made a few mistakes during direct kicks and corner kicks which gave us some very close opportunities. After some secret instructions from Coach German, Yo put a perfect direct kick through a hole in their wall just missing Jessie by inches as she sped to meet the ball at the far post. We also had some really nice crosses from Lulu, Megan and Cynthia which were all well placed and nearly converted on. Our mid-fielders, Paola, Shayda and Annie ran like marathon runners as they dominated nearly 70% of the field and played both D and offense. Our team did a great job to contain their offense but on one crazy play, we nearly gave up a goal after they intercepted an “11” play and somehow broke through several layers of our D to give their striker a solo look at our keeper and the net. Luckily our keeper, Erika was there to intimidate the shooter enough to make her miss-kick Olympic’s only real chance to score against us.

After the close call, our offense continued to attack with many nice strikes but either their fullbacks bumped us off balance before our shot or their keeper saved the shot. Finally the opportunity looked us in the face and we did not let it slip… After the ball was pushed out, Jordan noticed that the defense was still getting organized so she quickly threw in the ball between 4-5 defenders to create a break-away for Eva who raced after it. With only about a half a stride lead over her defenders, Eva stretched to take her shot just before all the defenders converged on her to drill her to the ground. The shot was MONEY and all we needed to take the lead 1-0. There were only a few minutes left on the clock so we simply played cautious soccer and ran the clock out to take the victory that we definitely deserved.

What a great weekend for soccer and great fun for us parents and coaches as we were truly entertained by our Top Gun girls. Our girls seem to make it exciting for us with their second half heroics but that is typically how it goes since most teams are strongest in the first half of play. As teams start to show fatigue and fall apart like a cheap suit, we just gain momentum and get stronger. With these very important wins, we now have sole possession of first place with just one game to go. Keep the positive support coming, the girls appreciate it and so do the coaches. Thanks for all that came out to brave the weather and cheer for the mighty, mighty Top Gun girls!

From Gopher Holes to Putting Greens

What a great way to start a weekend, perfect weather, great field and great soccer. Prospect High school ’s awesome turf field was literally a 100% improvement over the hazardous field we played on against the Cheetahs of Santa Cruz. Of course our girls really didn’t care; they simply varied their playing style and delivered great results. Saturday’s performance was an excellent example of nice team play and the girl’s ability to adjust to the speed and bounce of a turf field quickly.

Top Gun started off a bit out of kilter since the turf field was much larger and faster than what they were used to. We quickly took over the game with ball possession but had difficulty controlling our timing and distance. We got our first goal after Lulu’s wizardry with the ball confused the keeper so much that she ended up tripping over herself which allowed the ball to roll in. We got somewhat lucky with that goal but knew it was the momentum spark we needed to get things going in the second half.

After the second half whistle, it was clear that our girls adjusted their pace and touch. We had better passes, mounted better attacks and much better shots on goal in the second half compared to the first half. We had 4-5 great shots on goal that were all stopped by the Striker’s second keeper, who was really on her game and played a great second half. Unfortunately for the Strikers, Top Gun was really on their game as well and was able to not only dominate time of possession but also managed to put three more balls into the net. Great power shot from 22 yards out by Cynthia and a couple of nice goals by miss reliable, Jordan.

Overall, we coaches were very impressed by the play this weekend by our ever improving Top Gun girls. Good east/west passing and some good switching of the field as well as several excellent crosses. Our D managed to contain the Striker’s speedy forwards and gave up only two decent shots on goal, both of which were stopped by Annie, our very alert keeper. At the end of the game, our girls amassed four goals, had a good 45 minutes or so of ball possession and handed out another shutout.

We do have some things to work on such as tight space ball control and better discipline on our set plays but those skills will come with time and more practice. It is safe to say that the girls have come a long way in such a short period of time. They play more like a team now and truly support each other on both defense and offense. Absolutely no complaints from the coaches’ bench so far, especially with the results the girls are turning in. Despite the excellent statistics, our girls seem quite grounded which is always nice to see.

For the second half of the season, we will continue to try to have fun and keep the injuries down to a minimum and see what that brings us. Thanks for coming out to enjoy the weather and to support the mighty Top Gun girls as they make a bit of history for themselves.

Santa Cruz, its not that Far

What a great weekend for the Top Gun girls! Once again we were scheduled for two games this weekend but for some reason, both games were away and “way” away for that matter… Luckily, away meant beautiful Santa Cruz , which is a whole heck of a lot better than away to Modesto . As such, Top Gun wouldn’t think of letting the opportunity to enjoy the weather and the beach get away. Zumba, soccer, great weather, delicious grub, sun and sand… what more can one ask for?

If results are what you are asking for then, our Top Gun girls certainly delivered this weekend! Our first game was against the Jaws and even though I was not there to see it, I felt as if I were with all the commentaries that you folks dished out. Not much to boast about except that the girls played a great game and were true sportsman about it. I heard that Jordan started things off with a couple of goals, followed by dos from Yo and a double-shot by Halley. Finally Shayda put the final nail in the coffin with one of her own. After that, I am sure it was the longest 20 minutes ever endured since watching OJ driving around in the white SUV.

So even though I wasn’t there, I can conclude a few things. The offense hummed on all cylinders and played well and everyone got a look at the net. Next, it is obvious once again that our D completely contained their forwards to graciously hand out another shut-out. So in this particular case, I am not sure what happened between with whistles but I am really likin’ the results.

After the game, we all proceeded to our next adventure at the Wilhelm’s beach home. Once I arrived, the party was rolling and great food and libation were being passed around like no tomorrow. The beach was next on the agenda and as we all suspected, that could have been the last stop for the girls. No need for anything else from their perspective. Of course we knew we had a game the next day so the boring ole parents had to call it quits. Good thing since my car was supposedly parked illegally and was about to get towed! Thanks for all the help in delaying the tow truck driver Iraj!! We all need to get the full scoop directly from Iraj about why the tow truck driver instantly felt an affinity towards him… J

Game two on Sunday was again in beautiful Santa Cruz but this time on the worst field I have ever experienced. There were gopher holes, thick never-experienced-a-mower patches and thin never-experienced-grass patches. It was almost a hazard, so we jogged around before the game just to get used to the inconsistencies of this field. After the whistle blew, our girls attacked the ball with conviction and immediately started to control the game. This was not a terribly strong team but they had a few very fast and ultra aggressive defenders that gave us trouble the entire game. After many decent attempts with near misses, Jordan finally put a beauty of a shot in to make it 1 to nil. Second half was a lot of the same, 90% control of the ball and 10-12 good attacks with reasonable shots. Each time, our strikers got roughed up quite a bit. I am pretty sure that if #5 were not there sweeping the backfield, the score could have been 5-0. None of our girls were intimidated and all continued to attack, each time getting closer and closer to scoring. Lulu definitely was not intimidated and took it too them with a solo weave, bump back and great shot to give us a nice padded lead.

The team played very well on Sunday. I commented to them after the game that I have nothing to critique, only that they all played a great game! There were excellent plays in the center field area by our defenders to keep the game safe from our keeper. Our stopper maintained control of the center of the field very well to allow our wing defenders to make an impact beyond mid-field. Completing the dominating D of course are our sweepers, allowing nothing to threaten our keepers. Our mid-fielders and forwards played extremely smart soccer on Sunday as well. There were great back passes and much more east to west ball movement. During the second half, they moved the ball around the shooting perimeter with nice control and created several openings that allowed us to attack. The passing is getting much sharper and more precise and we are starting to look more and more like a team that has been together for years rather than months.

Nice weekend overall for fun, socializing and soccer. Our team had great success and we coaches learned a few things that we will try to work on so it was a productive weekend as well. Thanks for all the help that happened behind the scenes to make the games flow smoothly and thanks for a great party at the Wilhelm’s. Next weekend is another game with yet another team that we’ve never seen before so get ready for more cheering as our mighty Top Gun girls continue to create a name for themselves in their inaugural season in CYSA.

Tall Trees Champions

Last year, the original TopGun team won their 1st trophies with 1st place at the Palo Alto Tall Trees Tournament. This year TopGun White continued the legacy

" Newly formed Top Gun White 97G won their first tournament at the Palo Alto Tall Trees Tournament on September 25-26, 2010. Top Gun White won their bracket decisively then went on to win the semi-final and final games by way of PKs. Unbeaten in the tournament, Top Gun defeated two bronze team and two silver teams to bring home their first trophy as a team."
